Project - Making a speech about sport
课堂设计指导思想:
这是Project的第一课时,主要是帮助学生理解文章扫清阅读障碍,为后面的所作的Project作准备的。同时引导学生怎么做演讲,具体的步骤是什么。
Teaching aims:
Help students do a project with entering a new sport into the Olympics.
Help students read the passage for entering a new sport into the Olympics.
Introduce the procedure to make a speech.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Brainstorming:
Raise the questions related to the Olympic events.
What sporting events are performed in the Olympic Games?
Which of these sporting events do you like best? Why?
Do you know why these sporting events are held in the Olympics?
How can we try to enter a new sport into the Olympics?
Step 2 Reading
1. Read the first article part by part and answer the questions.
Part 1
What requirements must be met before a sport can be considered by the IOC?

What sports have been removed from the Olympics? Why?
