The Clinical Research on the Treatment of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis by the Method of Yiqi Yangyin Tongluo Speciality: The Study of Lung Disease Internal Medicine of TCM Author: MaLi Tutor: Professor Jiang Yunxiang Abstract Purpose: To observe and evaluate the therapeutic effect of the method of Yiqi Yangyin Tongluo on Feiwei, which belongs to Qi-Yin deficiency and Feiluo Yuzu type in TCM, and to investigate the clinical security, validity and the mechanism of this treatment. Methods: Forty patients chosen by adoption standards were divided into two groups at random. Twenty patients of observation group were treated with Jiawei Pingfeng Shengmai powder and prednisone. The others of control group were treated only with prednisone. Twelve weeks was a course of treatment in this clinical trial. The related items, such as clinical symptoms and the indexes of medical laboratory tests of both groups were measured before and after the treatment. Results: The clinical research showed that there was a significant difference (P0.05) between the two groups. And Jiawei Pingfeng Shengmai powder played a role in the improvement of symptoms, the reduction of blood viscosity, and the increment of arterial oxygen. Conclusions: The method of Yiqi Yangyin Tongluo is an effective treatment of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. This method can strengthen the bodys response against the disease, improve the quality of life of patients and delay the progression of the disease.
