Theschool-basedassessment(SBA)isaholisticassessmentwhichevaluatesthecognitive,affective,and
psychomotoraspectsinlinewiththegoalsoftheMalaysianNationalPhilosophyofEducation(NPE)inthe
nationalcurriculum.TheextentofachievingthegoalsoftheNPEandnationaleducationdependsontheteachers
asitsimplementers.Therefore,thisstudyaimsto identifytheextentoftheimplementationofSBA withinteachers
from theaspectofknowledgeandskills,teachers’planning,theimplementationofassessment,item construction,
aswellasteachers’restraintsinimplementingSBA.Throughtheliteratureanalysesrelatedtotheimplementation
ofSBA,itwasfoundthatmanyteachersdidnotknow andwerenotskilledinassessingtheirstudents.Thiscould
affectthereliabilityandthevalidiytoftheassessment.Inthemanystudiesthatwereobserved,amajorityof
teachersstillrefuseto acceptthe implementation ofSBA.A detailed response isneededto gainthe correct
informationrfom theteachers.Theuseofurbricsintheinstrumentsenablesgainingmoredetailedinformationand
reportswhicharemoreprofoundcouldbepresented.Thisstudydiscussesthest
