The preliminary study on the mechanism of the processing of Licorice Speciality: Pharmacy of TCM Author: Zhang Tai Tutor: Professor Sun Li-li Abstract The licorice is one of the commonly used decoction pieces on TCM clinic.The prepared licorice is its common processed product.The emphasis points of its functions are turn to invigorating the spleen after mix-fring with honey ,which mechanism is not explicit yet. And relateive studies,such as composition study,efficacy study are still underdeveloped. The technique of its processing is not standardized either. What’s more,some theoretical problems are still in dispute.So,it is needed to determine its processing technique,study on the different after the licorice mix-fring with honey and the mechanism of processing. This paper took the different processed products of the licorice as the research objects, carried on a series of research,such as the chemical composition comparison, the technique of its processing, the phannacologic effect of them. The actual content is as follows: Extracted the different ingredients and the different polar fractions from the licorice respectively.Compared with their different behavior on the thin layer chromatograph. The results showed that the total alkaloid, the carbohydrate content , the ethyl acetate extract and the methanol extract of the licorice had been changed after mix-fring with honey. The total alkaloid and the carbohydrate occurred qualitative changes and other changes of the different ingredients are because of the addition of the refine honey.
