Clinical study on Zhuangguhuoxue decoction combined with vascularized iliac bone grafting for treatment of Osteonecrosis of the Femoral Head Speciality: Orthopaedics of TCM Author: Wang Yuanxin Tutor: Professor Xing Lifeng Abstract Objective:To study the effect of Zhuangguhuoxue decoction combined with vascularized iliac bone grafting in treatment for ARCO stage Ⅱ-Ⅲ osteonecrosis of the femoral head. Method:Forty patients with 49 hips being at ARCO stage Ⅱ-Ⅲ were randomly divided into two guoups.The treatment group(21 patients with 28 hips) were treated with Zhuangguhuoxue decoction for three course of treatment after two weeks of vascularized iliac bone grafting surgery.The control group (19 patients with 21 hips) were operated with vascularized iliac bone grafting. Observed the changes of Harris hip score and X-ray film image. Results:At 12 months after treatment,the promotion of Harris hip score and X-ray film image in treatment group were significantly better than that in control group. Conclusion: Zhuangguhuoxue decoction combined with vascularized iliac bone grafting is more effective than vascularized iliac bone grafting in treatment for ARCO stage Ⅱ-Ⅲ osteonecrosis of the femoral head.
