The Re-evaluation on The Effects of Neo-confucianism to The Traditional Chinese Medicine Specialty: Literature in TCM Author : Liu Peng Tutor: Professor Zhang Cheng-bo Abstract On the foundation of historical tracing of the interaction of Chinese traditional culture and traditional Chinese medicine, synthesized to utilize science of history, philosophy, document study, logistics and occurring study etc. method, the author analyzed the change in the traditional Chinese medicine theories in the influence of the transition from the philosophical generative theory to the philosophical ontology, and re-evaluated the important roles which the neo-confucianism played in the building of the traditional Chinese medicine theories. This article pointed out that the traditional Chinese medicine of Ming dynasty formed the the theory of Ming men with effects of the neo-confucianism ontology that was different from the classical physiology in the Yellow Emperors Classic of Internal Medicine. Moreover, much more reasonable and moderate attention should be put to the yields of the correlative study between neo-confucianism and the traditional Chinese medicine, such as the Zhou Yi medicine, Ming men theory of Ming dynasty, the relationship between neo-confucianism and TCM School of Jin dynasty and Yuan dynasty.
