Methods：First of all, course of disease、lower extremity Doppler、ankle-brachial index、 distance that patients with intermittent claudication、blood glucose、HbAlc and lipid of 350 diabetic patients (248 With LEAD,102 without LEAD) were determined and the syndrome types in early LEAD were analyzed. Secondly, 90 early LEAD diabetes patients were divided into observation group and control group randomly.The observation group patients were treated by Tangmaitong mixture，and the control group patients were treated by Cilostazol and Statin lipid-lowering drugs.After 6 months，the experimenial indexs (glucose、lipid、 TNF-α and IL-6、quality of Life、distance that patients with intermittent claudication、the main effect of TCM symptoms、ankle brachial index) were compared to those in the beginning. Result:1. There is positive correlation between early LEAD and age, the course of disease. The abnormal glucose and lipid metabolism is attribute to qi asthenia causing blood stasis.2. Tangmaitong mixture can meliorate the glucose、lipid、blood rheology、clinical symptoms、TNF-a and IL-6 obviously, the effection is better than that of control group. The total effectiveness rate of the Tangmaitong mixture group is 93.3%，whereas that of the control group is merely 60.0%，after processed with statistieal methods，there is significant difference between treated group and control group. Conclusion：Tangmaitong mixture can meliorate the clinical symptoms and physical signs of early LEAD in diabetes patients, Buqi Huoxue Jiedu Tong
