Especially EFL teachers’ code-switching in classroom is becoming the focus of many linguistic scholars. Some scholar’s think that teachers should not use native language during the process of teaching target language, or this will weaken the input of target language. Some teachers think that teachers should use native language with proper amount in a proper time. The study aims to use English classroom of local university as the main subject, and then analyze the state quo, motivation, function and influencing factors of EFL te achers’ code-switching between English and Chinese in the local university. All the statistics of the research are from classroom recording, classroom observation, questionnaire and interview. According to the classroom recording, we can get the frequency and amounts of teachers’ code-switching in the classroom. Students’ real feedback and the purposes and functions of teachers’ code -switching can be collected from the classroom observation. Questionnaires are conducted between teachers and students.
