They summarize the essence of the report, usually in about 200-250 words. 是指明一次文献的主题范围及内容梗概的简明摘要，相当于简介。报道性摘要一般用来反映科技论文的目的、方法及主要结果与结论，在有限的字数内向读者提供尽可能多的定性或定量的信息，充分反映该研究的创新之处。可分别介绍几部分概况。 篇幅视论文长度以200-250字左右为宜。 Made up of four parts: 其特点是全面、简要地概括论文的目的、方法、主要数据和结论。或者简要提炼段旨句，并达到扼要并逻辑的揭示论文全貌的作用。 通常， 这种摘要可以部分地取代阅读全文。 20世纪80年代中期出现 “结构式摘要” (structured abstract),该摘要实质上是报道性摘要的结构化表达。 优点：内容简洁、完整、信息量大；观点明确，便于阅读，符合计算机数据库的存储和使用要求。 全结构式（Full-structured） 目的、设计、地点、对象、处理/治疗方法、主要结果测定、结果、结论等8个方面 半结构式 (semi-structured) 目的、 方法、 结果、结论 4个方面 目前，一般期刊的英文摘要，包括我国的绝大多数学术期刊均根据国际《向生物医学期刊投稿的统一要求》（Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts submitted to Biomedical Journals) 的要求，采用OMRAC或AMRAC格式，即主要包括目的（objective/aim），方法（methods）、结果（results）及（and）结论（conclusion）四部分内容。 Semi-structured A semi-structured abstract includes a important section headings: objective, methods, results, and conclusions. （OMRAC） Apparently, compared with the full-structured abstracts, semi-structured ones are more precise and to the point.
