Train the students’ ability to understand the main idea and grasp important details of the listening texts. 2. Give the students a chance to exchange views they have heard to enable them to have a deeper understanding of the texts. Section A The Widow 1. Let the students acquainted with some new words: considerate, underline, quotation, restrain, bring up, regarding, fill one’s need 2. Know and understand the feeling behind the words ; 3. Use time sequence to write a story; 4. Understand your favorite sentences and recite them. Section B The Trashman 1. Understanding Idiomatic Expressions 1 . Searching for context clues; 2 . Looking at examples if there are any; 3 . Finding explanations if there are any; 4 . Locating opposite if similar phrases. Respecting some people no matter what their careers are.
