Teaching Material: Communication Workshop Advertisements in Unit 10 Money, Module 4
Class Type: Reading Writing
Teaching Objectives:
Get the general idea of the layout of an advertisement by reading some advertisements in L4 CW.
Try to work out an advertisement in groups.
Teaching Important and Difficult Points:
Get the layout of an advertisement and some techniques to make an advertisement convincing
Work out an advertisement.
Resource Used: A multimedia system
Teaching Procedures:
Step 1. Lead-in.
Begin a discussion with the following questions:
①Why are there so many advertisements in our life?
②What’s the purpose of making an advertisement Step 2.Pre-writing
Guided reading: From the point of writing, Ss are guided to read the advertisement in CW, the main purpose of which is to work out the layout of an advertisement and the techniques to make it convincing.
Read the advertisements in L4 as a consolidation of what Ss have been told about writing an advertisement from the above process.[来源:学,科,网Z,X,X,K]

Give a writing task from the Bulletin Board. Ask the Ss to work in a group of four to work out an advertisement according to what they have learnt.
Before writing, give out the rules of self-assessment.
Step 4. Post-writing
Self-assessment.
Share several advertisements with the whole class. Deal with any problem raised from the passage.
Step 5. Homework

教学设计说明
教学目标 本节课意图引导学生通过对书面英语广告的阅读总结归纳英语广告的写作框架及写作技巧,并尝试以4人小组为单位进行英语广告模仿写作。
教学内容 高中英语模块4第10单元里面的三课书:Lesson4, Communication Workshop以及Bulletin Board
教学设计 首先从写作技巧出发,分别从广告内容的选择,组合,语言、句型选用上,组织学生认真研读Communication Workshop里的广告,从中总结得出广告写作的框架与写作技巧,并学习收集与之相关的词句。然后组织学生按照写作框架审阅Lesson 4里的4篇广告,借此帮助学生进一步巩固广告写作框架与技巧。接着给出Bulletin Board的写作任务,组织学生以4人小组为单位写一篇关于Ipad 2的广告,最后点评学生习作,并总结本节课所学内容。
