Teaching Plan Title Oxford English 6A Module 3 Unit 9 Picnics are fun Period 2 Reading: Planning a picnic Three-dimensional Objectives Knowledge and skill objectives Students will be able to use some new words to describe tastes. 2. Students will be able to ask Wh-questions to find out reasons and use connectives to give out a reason. Process and method objectives Ss will have an idea of how to express their preferences for food. Ss will have an idea of how to ask for and give out reasons. Emotion, attitude and value objectives Ss will learn to cooperate with other students and be aware of the importance of group working Teaching Focus Using new words to express different tastes. e.g. sweet, salty, spicy,sour,bitter 2. Ask Wh-questions to ask for reasons. eg. Why do you like…? Why don’ t you like…? 2. Using connectives to give out a reason e.g. I like…because … Teaching Aids Steps Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Purposes Pre-task preparation While-task procedure Post-task activities Assignmen-ts Ask the Ss to think about what we need for a picnic? Show some pictures of food and drink, ask the Ss what they are and if they like them. Help them to learn some new words about tastes. Ask the Ss to finish a chant by filling in blanks. Show more picnics of food and drink, ask the students to work in groups of 5 to make their own chants as a competition. Ask the students to listen to the recording and get certain information. Play the recording, and ask the students to read after it. Ask the students to role-play the dialogue as a competition. Ask the students to make dialogues to discuss if they would like to buy the food and drink mentioned in their chants. Offer each group with an “Envelope Market”, ask the students to dicide their shopping list by asking and answering questions. Copy the new words.
