Florida Yards Neighborhoods 2008 Outstanding Florida-Friendly Community Awards What is the Florida-Friendly Community Award? Florida Yards Neighborhoods (FYN) is a public education and outreach program available through many University of Florida Extension offices. In 2006, FYN launched a prestigious statewide Florida-Friendly Community Award to recognize new developments that incorporated Florida-friendly landscaping and irrigation practices into their communities. Florida-friendly communities seek to conserve water, protect our natural resources and support wildlife. Past award winning communities have included: Connerton – Pasco County Hancock Place – St. John’s County Lake Jovita, Lake Jovita Joint Venture – Pasco County Pelican Preserve – Lee County River Forest, King Ranch Manatee – Manatee County Vista Cove Condominiums, Drunna Properties – St. John’s County Willowbend, Lee Wetherington Homes – Sarasota County Join these award winning communities, by completing the enclosed application on your community.
