Ask Ss the following questions: 1) Are there any negative terms in China that are used in connection with a fellow student? What values do they express? Are they used for hard working students? 2) Do you know the terms “nerds” and “geeks”? If not, skim through the first two paragraphs to guess their meaning. 2.
