Analysis on the Skills and Laws of CET―4 Listening 　　Abstract. For a long time， listening is always a stumbling block like a tiger before college students who are going to take CET-4 in China. Therefore， how to overcome this difficulty has proven to be of great urgency. The difficulty of listening can be gradually conquered only if the misunderstandings of English listening trainings are known well， the feasible methods are sought and related skills and laws are mastered. 　　Key words： CET-4 Listening； Extensive Listening； Intensive Listening 　　According to observations， compound dictation as a part of CET-4 has become the most difficult problem of college students in recent years. It can be seen that 50% of examinees left 7-9 questions of this part （including 10 questions totally） blank， and 40% left the ninth and tenth questions blank. After a re-observation on the answers filled by these examinees， half of their answers were incomplete （e.g. words were wrongly written）， or some questions were filled with empty answers there because the examinees did not understand the listening material completely. Only about 10% of examinees could correctly and successfully fill answers to the questions of the compound dictation. After CET-4 was ended， the information reported from students was always that the listening questions were not answered by them well. Under these circumstances， it is necessary for these students to realize their misunderstandings of English listening trainings， and know well some skills and laws of CET-4 listening and also keep practicing English listening. 　　1.The Common Misunderstandings in Listening Trainings and the Targeted Training Strategies 　　As is known to all， in CET-4 and CET-6， listening is always a focal point reviewed by examinees， but also a part making examinees suffer from headache and lose scores very easily.
