It was founded by Fredericton businessman, Stan Cassidy. His vision was to help New Brunswickers with disabilities return to more independent and pleasurable lives. In 1994 the Minister of Health and Community Services, Dr Russell King, designated the SCCR as the provincial centre for rehabilitation of the most complex neurological disorders. Today SCCR provides inpatient, outpatient and outreach rehabilitation services throughout the province.
