Revision Check the answers to the Grammar exercises in the Workbook. Step 2. Cultural Corner 1. Leading-in Ask Ss to look at the picture on page 39 and answer the questions. (1) What is the child doing? (2) Why is he doing so? 2. While-reading Ask Ss to read the passage and discuss the following questions in pairs. Which countries in Europe work hard to improve the environment? How do the countries in Europe try to improve the environment? What does the “Green” movement try to do? How does it work? Suggested Answers: In Europe, Germany and northern European countries work hard to improve the environment. They recycle everything, do differential collection of rubbish and have green movement. The “Green” movement tries to get governments to think seriously about the environment and how to look after it. It collects information about how industry is damaging the environment and gives this information to newspapers. 3. Post-reading Ask Ss to work in groups and discuss the following questions. Are there any organizations in China whose aim is to protect the environment? What do you know about these organizations? Step 3. Speaking 1
