Operation Christmas Child is an initiative of Samaritan’s Purse – a Christian relief and development organisation which works through local churches to proclaim and demonstrate the love of God amongst communities in need in Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. * In the UK alone last year nearly 1.2 million shoeboxes packed full of gifts and goodies were wrapped, packed and sent to children overseas by children and adults in the UK. * But what Operation Christmas Child really boils down to is one gift, from one individual to another. This Christmas you can share in the power of a simple gift – reminding a child in need that God loves them and that they have not been forgotten this Christmas. * We work with local churches and charities overseas to ensure that your shoebox gets delivered by hand to the children that most need it, regardless of their background or beliefs.
