说课 英语087班 钟顺红 Background information ◆Students: 40 Junior high school students, grade 2 ◆Lesson duration: 45 mins ◆Teaching aids: blackboard, chalk, ppt, picture, white papers Teaching methods: 1) Total Physical Response (TPR) 2) Five steps teaching method 3) Audi-lingual approach Teaching objectives: 1) learn about the attributive clause and know how to use it. 2) learn about the present perfect time, its meaning, structure, and how to use it. 3) learn to scan and skim the passage and summarize it. 4) cultivate students to have a grateful heart and willing to help others in need. Teaching contents: 1) new vocabulary: contaminate, illiterate, slip, disastrous, sponsor, plight, meager, reclaim, coupon, executive director. 2) new structure E.g. Imagine a little girl who knows there will not be enough food for dinner. This is what Save the Children has been about since 1932. 3) phrases or sentences: spend doing… slip away chances are… combined with make a difference Teaching procedures Step 1 Review (10 mins) a) warm up: a sign language song “Grateful heart” b) students think about their present life, happy or not? c) students write down what they would like to do for others or what they have done for others? d) students volunteer to talk about his or her experience of helping others e) Teacher summarizes, and encourage students to treasure the present life, live positively and optimistically as well as have sympathy.
