The Metabolic Bariatric Surgery Center(MBSC)，the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical College，Wenzhou，325000 Abstract: Objective: To provide a clinical pathway of gastrointestinal (GI) surgery in treatment for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM)，and to provide more evidences for further academic research and standardized clinic therapies. Methods: The domestic and foreign experts were invited to a series of seminars in Wenzhou for academic exchanges on this subject for four times by the Metabolic Bariatric Surgery Center (MBSC) of the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical College， during 2010 to 2012. The surgical experi- ence and follow-up data of Wenzhou were collected，combined with the suggestion of the seminars and considered of the domestic and foreign guidelines on the subject，thereby some criterions for T2DM surgery were found and firstly practiced by the MBSC of the FAHWZMC. Results: The first clinical pathway on surgical therapy of T2DM in China was finally established，initially clinically practiced by the MBSC of FAHWZMC. Conclusion: The preliminary practices showed that the“the clinical pathway on surgical therapy of T2DM” was of scientificity and feasibility，worth being taken example by the safe and efficient clinical experience.
