Esophageal cancer is common in China, one of the main symptoms in patients with difficulty eating, pain, and vomiting. Currently surgery is the best treatment. In the peri-operative care to enhance patient’s diet is very important to the success of the operation. Our hospital from 2005-2007 32 cases of esophageal cancer patients undergoing radical surgery, in the preoperative and postoperative care to enhance the diet, received good results. now reported as follows Nursing.
1 Clinical data
The group of 32 patients, 19 males and 13 females, aged 32 to 79 years, mean age 66 years .32 patients underwent radical resection of esophageal cancer.
2 Nursing
2.1 Preoperative diet nursing
In the early active steps to strengthen nutrition, eat more fresh vegetables and fruit. Meat, with a reasonable variety of food thickness. 1 d before surgery, after night to eat fasting liquid diet drink, morning surgery indwelling gastric tube. A high degree of obstruction of the esophagus patients often above the esophageal mucosa in obstructive inflammatory edema, 2 d before surgery with a saline flush of esophageal stomach cannula, reduce local inflammatory edema, anastomotic conducive to healing.
Diet care after 2.2
3 ~ 4 d after surgery should be strictly within the fast and decompression, oral care should be prepared during fasting, maintaining oral hygiene, prevention of infection. Based on the patient’s recovery of intestinal function determine the patient’s feeding time. To be restored anal peristalsis After discharge (usually 4 ~ 5 d after surgery to drink a small amount of warm water, every 2 h once every 50 mL. after 6 days without discomfort can enter rice soup, fish soup and other liquid diet. every 3 h time Each 100 mL.
