Methods 38 patients (44 feet) fractures, according to Sanders classification: 16-foot, type of 26 feet, type 2, and the use of L-shaped extension of the lateral calcaneal incision open reduction and plate fixation. Results were followed up for 8 to 18 months with an average of 12 months. All the patients were last follow-up fracture healing, time to full weight bearing after surgery 3 to 6 months with an average of 4 months. Postoperative AOFAS ankle and hindfoot by function score, total score of 51 to 100, an average of 83.7 points, excellent in 12 feet, good in 23 feet, 7 feet, poor in 2, excellent rate of 79.5%. Conclusion intra-articular calcaneal fractures with open reduction, plate fixation of the efficacy of quality, fully understand the injury mechanism of fracture is the basis for successful operation.
