 PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 5 Children and adolescents the relationship between body mass index and heart and lung function [Abstract] Objective To analyze the male and female children and adolescents of urban and rural Anhui Province, body mass index (BMI) and age variation to explore the indicators of heart and lung function of children and adolescents with BMI relevance. Method of Anhui Province for the 2005 National Student Physical Fitness and Health Research’s 9,000 students as the research object, through the two-sample t tests and analysis of all age groups, gender differences between the BMI and rural-urban differences; more vital capacity, vital capacity index, diastolic blood pressure, systolic blood pressure and the pulse of the Z sub-groups in various BMI-Z between the distribution characteristics, analyzing cardio-pulmonary function index Z and BMI-Z sub-sub-correlation. Results 6 to 22-year-old urban and rural areas BMI increased with age for men and women showed the same trend of steady growth, BMI compared gender differences in rural-urban differences are significant; vital capacity, diastolic and systolic blood pressure Z split between the BMI-Z sub-Jun Cheng strong positive correlation (P = 0  000), vital capacity index of Z and BMI-Z sub-sub-negative correlation (P = 0  000), the pulse of the Z sub-sub-and BMI-Z weaker correlation (r = 0  006, P = 0  552). Conclusions BMI of children and adolescents of different gender are cross-cutting phenomenon in adolescence, high age, urban-rural differences in adolescent BMI small; as BMI increased, children and adolescents decreased vital capacity index, systolic and diastolic blood pressure rise, the need for early monitoring of a high BMI of children and adolescents cardiopulmonary function.
