Methods A retrospective analysis was made to thee clinical data of 20 senile patients having received pancreaticodudenectomy.Result Post-operative complications occurred in 4 cases out of the 20 (20 %): 2 cases of gastroparesis (10%), 1 case of upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage (5%) and 1 case of fat liquefaction of the incision (5%), and all the patients showed good recovery after successful operations. Conclusions Thorough perioperative preparation, skillful operative performance and good care-taking can make the operations safe and smooth, and can effectively decrease the complication occurrence in senile patients.
