[Conclusion] PFN has a short operative time, less bleeding, and the advantages of rigid fixation for intertrochanteric fractures in the elderly treatment. [Method] Take the said method for 46 cases, observe operation time, bleeding in operation, walk time after operation, fracture cure time and score of hip function. [Result] After following up for 6 ~ 20m, 11.8m in average, 1 had re fracture of throchanteric, 1 died of pulmonary infection, 1 had coxa adducta, 1 loose PFN, others had satisfying cure effect.The operation time was 68.8min, average bleeding 401.6ml, post operation incision drainage 58.2ml, coxa functional recovery excellence rate 88.7%. [Conclusion] PFN has advantages of short operation time, less bleeding and solid and stable, fit for senile intertrochanteric fracture, coordination of TCM can promote fracture cure.
