 PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 8 In our hospital ESBLs-producing Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae resistance analysis [Abstract] Objective: To understand the hospital ESBLs producing Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae distribution and drug resistance to guide clinical use of drugs. Methods: The hospital in July 2005 ~ December 2007 of Escherichia coli isolated from clinical samples of 218, Klebsiella pneumoniae 195, using disc diffusion phenotypic confirmatory test for ESBLs detection, with the KB method to do drug sensitivity test. Results: 413 strains producing ESBLs were detected strains 106, the total detection rate was 25.7%; producing ESBLs bacteria resistant to all penicillin-type antibiotics on the third-generation cephalosporins resistance rate reached more than 90% of the sulfa class, quinolone resistance rate of 50% ~ 90% were sensitive to imipenem. Conclusions: ESBLs producing Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae increased year by year should be based on susceptibility results with clinical rational use of antibiotics. Methods: 218 isolates of E. coli and 195 isolates of K . pneumoniae strains were collected from July 2005 to December 2007. ESBLs-producing isolates were detected by inhibitor-potentiated disc diffusion test. The bacterial susceptibility testing was done by KB argr diffusion method. Results: Among 413 E. coli and K. pneumoniae isolates , 106 were ESBLs-producing strains, the ratio was 25.7%. All of the ESBLs producing strain were resistant to penicillins, the resistant rate of 3rd cephalosporin were above 90%, the resisitant rate of sulfonamides and quinolones were 50% ~ 90%, all isolates were susceptble to imipenem.Con
