Method: February 2002 ~ May 2007 to live in our hospital received of vitamin K deficiency bleeding in 26 cases, the clinical data analysis. Results: 26 cases of children with an average age 22.5 d, 16 males and 10 females, breast-feeding in 20 cases, bleeding sites in the gastrointestinal tract, intracranial, subcutaneous, injection site and so on. Conclusion: With the new-born babies intramuscular vitamin K, the late vitamin K deficiency bleeding is relatively increased, mainly high-risk population for breast-feeding infants, intracranial hemorrhage more common, the prognosis is poor, surviving children often left after-effects, should prevent the disease occurred. Keywords: vitamin K deficiency; hemorrhage; baby [Abstract] Objective: To pay more attention to the prophylaxis of hemorrhage caused by deficiency of vitamin K. Methods: 26 cases with hemorrhage caused by deficiency of vitamin K in our hospital were collected and analyzed. Results: The average age of these infants were 22.5 d and among them, 20 cases were breast feeding. The bleeding parts included gastrointestinal tract, intracalvarium, subcutaneous tissue and injection site. Conclusions: The infants fed by breast are more prone to suffer from hemorrhage caused by deficiency of vitamin K. Intracranial hemorrhage is the main type and often with unfavourable prognosis. The survivals usually are followed by lingering effects. So we should take more measures to prevent the hemorrhage caused by deficiency of vitamin K.
