Methods An analysis was made to the clinical data of 74 hospitalized cases with schizophrenia having had modified electric convulsive therapy from January, 2008 to August, 2009. Results The total effective rate reached 78.38% while the effectual rate was 28.38%. Conclusions Modified electric convulsive therapy is effective for cases with schizophrenia, even more effective for those refractory cases with weak response to antipsychotic.
