Asample of724 Russian employeesin15 service and manufacturingcompanieswassurveyed.Theresultsindicatethat,con- trary to Westerntheories,theleadershipinRussianstate-owneden- terprisestendstobeperceivedasbeingmoree?ectivethanthelead- ershipinprivateenterprises.Similarly,jobsinstate-ownedenterprises aremoreenrichedthaninprivatecompanies.Explanationsandimpli- cationsareprovided.
