ThesusceptibilityandsuitabilityofOmalonyxmatheroniasanintermediatehostofAngiostrongylusvasorumandthecharacteristics oflarvalrecoveryanddevelopmentwereinvestigated.Molluskswereinfected,andfromthe3rdtothe25thdayafterinfection, larvaewererecoveredfromgroupsof50individuals.The?rstobservationofL2wasonthe5thday,andthe?rstobservationof L3wasonthe10thday.Fromthe22nddayon,alllarvaewereattheL3stadium.Larvalrecoveryvariedfrom78.2%to95.2%.We foundlarvaldevelopmenttobefasterinO.matheronithaninBiomphalariaglabrata.Our?ndingsindicatethatthismolluskis highlysusceptibletoA.vasorum.InfectiveL3wereorallyinoculatedintoadog,andtheprepatentperiodwas39days.Thisisthe ?rststudytofocusonO.matheroniasanintermediatehostofA.vasorum. 1.Introduction and in the Lesser Antilles Islands [9], including localities where A. vasorum is known to occur [11, 12]. These mollusksareimportantintermediatehostsofthetrematode Leucochloridium[13–15]andareabletosupportthelifecycle ofAngiostrongyluscostaricensisinthelaboratory[12].There
