Wereportacaseofa14-year-boywhopresentedtouswithalow-gradefeverwitheveningrisefor9months.Alongwiththis, thepatientalsoreportedareductioninhisappetiteandbodyweight.Hehadamilddrycoughbutnorespiratorysymptoms otherwise.There wasnootherlocalizationforfeveronhistory. Hereceived antitubercular therapy, basedonabnormalchest radiograph.However,therewasnoreliefinhissymptoms.Generalphysicalexaminationrevealedmildfever.Systemicexamination wasunremarkable.Bloodinvestigationsdoneforfeverwerenoncontributory.Computedtomographic(CT)scanofthechest revealedamediastinalmasscompressingthetrachea. Thepossibilitiesoflymphomaorgermcelltumourwereconsidered. A biopsyfromthemassunderCTguidancewasperformed.Thehistopathologyrevealedmultipleepithelioidcellgranulomaswith necrosis,andthediagnosisoftuberculosiswasmade.Theclinicalcourseofthispatientandtherelevantliteratureispresentedin thispaper. 1.Introduction 2.CaseSummary The anterior mediastinal space is almost a virtual space.
