Littleisknownabouttheassociationbetweencognitivedistortion,typeDpersonality,familyenvironment,anddepression.The aimofthispaperwastoexaminetherelationshipsofcognitivedistortion,typeDpersonality,familyenvironment,anddepression inasampleofChineseadolescents.Methods.AsampleofChineseadolescentswithdepressionandthecontrolswereinvestigated cross-sectionallywithlifeorientationtest-revised(LOT-R),typeDpersonalityScale-14(DS14),familyenvironmentscale(FES), andZungself-depressionscale(SDS);respectively,allscaleswereadministeredinChinese.Results.Chinese-depressedadolescents showedmorecognitivedistortion,typeDpersonality,andadversefamilyenvironmentthancontrolgroups.Furthermore,lower level of Optimism, negative a?ectivity, and poor family cohesion may increase the risk of depression in Chinese adolescents. Conclusions. Our study indicates that lower level of Optimism, Negative A?ectivity, and poor Family Cohesion factors were implicatedtocontributetodepressioninChineseadolescents.Lowerlevelofoptimismandnegativea?ectivitymaybecrucial associatedfactorsofdepressionamongthesesamples.our?ndin
