This reaction-di?usion system plays an important role in the ?eld of electrocardiology asatractable mathematical model oftheelectrical activity inthehuman heart. Inoursettingtheboundedspatialdomainconsistsoftwosubdomains: acollectionofautomatic cells surrounded by collections of normal cells. Thus, the cell model features a discontinuous coe?cient.Analyticaltechniques areappliedtoapproximate thetime-periodic solutionthatarises attheHopf bifurcation point.
