IntroductionandObjective.Biliarycystadenomaisararebenignneoplasmoftheliverwithlessthan200casesbeingreportedallover theworld.Wereportaseriesof13caseshighlightingtheradiological?ndingsandproblemsrelatedtoitsmanagement.Materials andMethods.Recordsofthirteenpatientswhounderwentsurgeryforbiliarycystadenomas,betweenMarch2006andOctober 2011,werereviewedretrospectively.Results.Majorityofthepatientswerefemales(11outof13),withamedianageof46(23–65) years.Themostfrequentsymptomwasabdominalpain(92%).Sevenpatientshadpresentedwithhistoryofprevioussurgeryfor liverlesions.Fivepatientshadpresentedwithrecurrenceafterpartialresectionforasuspectedhydatidcystandtwoaftersurgery forpresumedsimplelivercyst.Tenofthe13patientshadcompleteresectionofthecystwithenucleationin3patients,2ofwhom inadditionrequiredT-tubedrainageofthebileduct.Therehasbeennorecurrenceduringthefollow-upperiodrangingfrom 3monthsto5years.Conclusion.Biliarycystadenomamustbedi?erentiatedfromotherbenigncysts.Hepaticresectionorcyst enucleationistherecommendedtreatmentoption. 1.Introduction distinguish a simple cyst or a hydatid cyst from a benign biliary cystadenoma.
