Mesenchymalstemcellscanbeisolatedfromalmostanyadulttissue.Inthispaperwefocusonbonemarrow-derivedmesenchymal stemcellswhichhavecapturedtheinterestofresearcherssincetheirintroductionbecauseofthepromisingpotentialoftissue regenerationandrepair.Theyareknownfortheirabilitytoself-renewanddi?erentiateintodiverselineageswhilemaintaining lowimmunogenicity.Theexactmechanismsbehindhowthesecellsworkstillremainunclear,andthereisacontinuingshiftinthe paradigmsthatsupportthem.Therehasbeenextensiveresearchinmultipleorgansystems;however,thegenitorurinarysystem hasbeenvastlyunderrepresented.
