Men who should particularlybeconsideredforcalciumandvitaminDsupplementsincludeelderlyorinstitutionalizedindividuals,patientswith documentedosteoporosisonantiresorptiveoranabolicmedication,andindividualsreceivingglucocorticoids.Bene?tsaremost apparentwhenadailydoseof1000–1200mgcalciumiscomplementedwith800IUvitaminD.Complianceisthekeytooptimizing clinicale?cacy.While(conventionallydosed)vitaminDhasnotbeenassociatedwithsafetyconcerns,recentmeta-analyticdata haveprovidedevid
