This paper deals with data reconstruction problem for a real disturbed soil-column experiment using anoptimal perturbation regularization algorithm. Apurpose ofdoing theexperiment isto simulate and study transport behaviors of Ca2, Na, Mg2, K, SO 2?, NO ?, HCO ?, and Cl? 4 3 3 whentheyverticallypenetrating throughsandysoils.Bydataanalysistobreakthroughdataofthe eightkindsofsoluteions,twokindsofmodelsdescribing theirtransport behaviors inthecolumn aregiven. Oneistheadvection-dispersion equation withtime-dependent reaction terms suitable for three ions ofHCO ?,NO ?,and K,the other isthe ordinary advection-dispersion equation 3 3 suitablefortherestions.Furthermore,alltheunknownsineachmodelaredeterminedbyutilizing theoptimalperturbationregularizationalgorithm,respectively,andthenthebreakthroughdatafor eachconsidered ionarereconstructed successfully.Theinversion resultsshowthattheadvection- dispersion model with suitable time-dependent reaction terms can be utilized to describe the experimenta
