CD69 targeting or deficiency of DC did not affect their expression of costimulatory molecules nor their capacitytoinduceAg-specificTcellproliferationininvitroassays.Also,CD69targetingordeficiencyoftransgenicTcells didnotaffecttheminimalproliferative dosefordifferentpeptideagonists invitro.IninvivomodelsoftransgenicTcell transferandlocalAginjection,CD69deficiencyoftransferredTcellsdidnotaffecttheextentoftheproliferativeresponsein Ag-draininglymphnodes(LN).Inagreementwiththeseresults,CD69MAbtargetingorgenedeficiencyofVaccinia-virus + (VACV)infectedmicedidnotaffecttheendogenousformationofvirus-specificCD8 Tcellpopulationsatthepeakofthe primary immune response. Altogether our results argue against a possible role in costimulation or an effect on Ag processingandpresentationforCD69.
