Methodology:Pubmed(whichincludesMedline)wassearchedforsurveysassessingprospectivelysymptomatic(diarrheal) episodesinageneralpopulationandsituation,whichalsoreportedonthenumberoftheepisodesbeingtestedRV+and on the persons and the time period observed. A bias assessment tool was developed and used according to Cochrane guidelinesby4researcherswithdifferentbackgrounds.Heterogeneitywasexploredgraphicallyandbycomparingfitsof study-homogenous‘fixedeffects’and-heterogeneous‘randomeffects’models.Dataweresynthesizedusingthesemodels. Sensitivityanalysisforuncertaintyregardingdataabstraction,biasassessmentandincludedstudieswasperformed.
