Then, the algorithms better estimated the actual connectivity of the network models, were used to extract functional connectivity from cultured cortical networks coupled to MEAs. Among the proposed approaches, Transfer Entropy and Joint-Entropyshowedthebestresultssuggestingthosemethodsasgoodcandidatestoextractfunctionallinksinactual neuronalnetworksfrommulti-siterecordings.
