Methods:FEmodelsofthebone-implantassemblyforboththetibiaandthetalus havebeendeveloped.Bonecharacteristicssuchasthedensitydistributionhave beenappliedcorrespondingtoCTscans.Aforceof5,200N,whichcorrespondsto thecompressionforceduringnormalwalkingofapersonwithaweightof100kg accordingtoStaufferetal.,hasbeenusedinthesimulation.Theboneadaptation law,previouslydevelopedbyourresearchteam,hasbeenusedforthecalculationof theremodellingprocesses. Results:Atotalbonemasslossof2%inthetibiaand13%inthetaluswas calculated.Thegreaterdeclineofdensityinthetalusisduetoitssmallersize comparedtotherelativelylargeimplantdimensionscausingremodellingprocesses inthewholebonetissue.Inthetibia,boneremodellingprocessesareonly calculatedinareasadjacenttotheimplant.Thus,asmallerbonemasslossthanin thetaluscanbeexpected.Thereisahighagreementbetweenthesimulat
