CasePresentation: Aneonatalhemorrhagicstroke,causedbyanaorticcoarctation,causedrightlowerlimbparesis, swallowingdisability,andcentraldiabetesinsipidusinaterminfant.Thescantoralintake,asaconsequenceofhis disability,causedprogressiveundernutritionwhichclosedaviciouscircle,delayinghisdevelopmentandhisabilityto overcometheswallowinghandicap.Ontheotherhand,nasaldesmopressinabsorptionwasblockedbyseveralcommon colds,resultinginbrainbleedingbecauseofseveredehydration.Thisevengreaterbraindamagehamperedthe improvementofswallowing,closingasecondharmfulcircle.Moreover,adevastatingcentralmyelinolysiswith quadriplegia,causedbyanuncontrolledintravenousinfusion,consummatedapernicioussequence,possiblyunreported. Conclusions:Thechild’soveralldevelopmentadvancedrapidlywhenhisnutritionwasimprovedbygastrostomy:This wasakeyeffectofnutritiononhishighlysensitiveneurodevelopment.Besides,thiscaseshowspotentialrisksrelatedto intranasaldesmopressintreatmentinyoungchildren.
