Methodology:Byaccuratelyreflectingnaturalvariationanduncertaintytogeneraterobustprobabilityestimatesofsource proportions, the application of Bayesian methods to stable isotope mixing models promises to enable researchers to addressanarrayofnewquestions,andapproachcurrentquestionswithgreaterinsightandhonesty. Conclusions:WeoutlineaframeworkthatbuildsonrecentlypublishedBayesianisotopicmixingmodelsandpresentanew opensourceRpackage,SIAR.TheformulationinRwillallowforcontinuedandrapiddevelopmentofthiscoremodelinto anall-encompassingsingleanalysissuiteforstableisotoperesearch.
