The evaluation of the proposed method considers both the use of threecontact-lesspubliclyavailablehanddatabases,andthecomparisonoftheperformance to two competitive pattern recognition techniques existing in literature: namely Support VectorMachines(SVM)andk-NearestNeighbour(k-NN).Resultshighlightthefactthat theproposedmethodoutcomesexistingapproachesinliteratureintermsofcomputational cost,accuracyinhumanidenti?cation,numberofextractedfeaturesandnumberofsamples fortemplatecreation. Theproposedmethodisasuitablesolutionforhumanidenti?cation incontact-lessscenariosbasedonhandbiometrics,providingafeasiblesolutiontodevices withlimitedhardwarerequirementslikemobiledevices.
