Methods:Thirty-sixpatientswithadiagnosisofCTDwereenrolled.EachpatientunderwentchestHRCTandlung USbyanexperiencedradiologistandrheumatologist,respectively.BothcomprehensiveandsimplifiedUSB-lines assessmentswerescanned.ThecomprehensiveUSassessmentwasperformedat50LISlevel,whereasthe simplifiedUSassessmentincludedbilaterally14LIS;fortheanteriorchest:thesecondLISalongthepara-sternal lines,thefourthLISalongthemid-clavear,anterioraxillaryandmid-axillarylines;fortheposteriorchest:theeighth LISalongtheparavertebral,sub-scapularandposterioraxillarylines. Forcriterionvalidity,HRCTwasconsideredthegoldstandard.Feasibility,interandintra-observerreliabilitywasalso investigated. Results:AhighlysignificantcorrelationbetweencomprehensiveandsimplifiedUSassessmentwasfound(P= 0.0001).AsignificantcorrelationwasalsofoundbetweenthesimplifiedUSassessmentandHRCTfindings(P= 0.0006).Kappavaluesfortheinter-observersimplifiedUSassessmentwereinarangefrom0.769to0.885,whereas theconcordancecorrelationcoefficientvaluesfortheintra-observerwerefrom0.856to0.955.Therewasarelevant differenceintimespentoncom
