TheaimwasinvestigatetheclinicopathologicfeaturesofEMPandtheroleofImmunophenotypeandgenotype detectionindiagnosisofEMP. Methods:Thirty-twocasesofEMPwereinvestigatedretrospectivelybyhistopathology,immunophenotype, genotypeandsurvivalanalysis. Results:Clinically,themeanageofthepatientswas53.4.Mostofthepatientsreceivednotreatmentafterthe diagnosiswasestablished,andtheprognosiswasrelativelypoor.Histologically,in40%ofthecases,theneoplastic cellsweregradeIIorIII.TheneoplasticcellsexpressedoneormorePCassociatedantigens.The immunophenotypeofEMPandinflammationofsinonasalregionswithnumerousPCinfiltrationswerecompared andshowedsomedifferenceinexpressionofCD45,CD27,CD44v6andBcl-2aswell.Iglightchainrestrictionwas detectedin87.5%ofthecases. Conclusions:wedescribed32ChinesecasesofEMP,comparewiththatreportedintheliterature,some differencesarepresented,includinghigherpercentageofgradeIIandIIIcases,clinicallyinconsistenttreatmentand managementaswellaspooroutcomeofthedisease.
