Non-verbal communication in English Teaching Abstract: This paper describes the meaning of non-verbal communication and its importance to explore the non-verbal communication in English teaching, with a view to improve teaching effectiveness and students practical communicative competence. For a long time, speech communication research has been oft-favored, rather than verbal communication research has not attracted people’s attention; domestic traditional foreign language teaching tend to focus only on speech itself, emphasizing voice, grammar, vocabulary, sentence patterns exercises and master; for students communicative abilities, but also focused on verbal communication abilities, the neglect of non-verbal communication capabilities.
