The diagnosis is made based on increased gonadotropin levels. Etiology and pathogenesis of POI is still unclear. At present, it is considered mainly related to genetic factors, autoimmune, iatrogenic factors, infection, environmental factors, personal lifestyle and behaviors and so on, but there are still some POI patients with unknown etiology, which is known as idiopathic ovarian insufficiency. The incidence of POI increases gradually, brings patients with serious physical and psychological effects. By POI etiology study can provide a theoretical basis for clinical treatment and prevention of diseases of the POI.
