PUMP SELECTION AND BROCHURE DESIGN SYSTEM ABSTRACT Pump is one of the general machinery and is used widely in the world. Pump selection software can find suitable pump among thousands of pumps quickly, so it’s favored by pump manufacturers. But it’s hard to keep database for pump selection software up to date, which restricts the usage of pump selection software. Database of pump selection software is made up of performance data, performance curve data and installation data. Pump brochure is created base on those data too. For most the pump selection software, we need input data manually or import data after pump brochure is ready. Once some pump parameters are changed, we need update pump brochure and database again. Furthermore, there’s big difference between pump brochure and pump selection software, it’s difficult to reuse data for creating pump brochure. In this article, we provide a process which combines pump brochure with pump selection software. We design an open pump selection system, define the system architecture and implement core arithmetic. Followings are what we investigated in this article: (1) Bind pump database with DWG file base on DwgDirect. Bind database field with installation diagram while designing pump brochure, thus we can update database while editing diagram and update diagram while editing data. Create performance curve with least squares curve fitting base on experimental data in database, and bind performance curve with database, thus we can update performance curve and database in two-way.
