Taking yi jing (已经)〃 and hai (还广 as tw o typ ical exam ples of durative and non-durative asp ectual adverb s, it discu sses their tem porary polarity sen sitivity and the scalar logic w h ich resu lts this feature. H ere, tem porary polarity sensitivity m ean s that they u sed to b e non-p olarity item s, but som etim es they w ill present p o larity d istr ib u tio n in d ifferen t co n tex ts. T h e pap er points out that durative asp ectual adverb s and non-durative asp ectu al adverb s tak e on an oppo site and com p lem entary po larity distribution in tw o different typ es of situation continuou s and non-continuou s :non-durative aspectual adverb s tend to app ear in the positive senten ce of non-continuous situation and negative sentence of continuou s situation w h ile durativ e asp ectual adverb s tend to app ear in th e positive sentence of continuou s situation and negative sentence of non-continuou s situation . F ocusing on describ ing the lasting tim e or rep eating tim es of an event, quantification aspectual adverbs have not polarity sensitiv ity. W h en w e tried to u se Israels S calar M odel of P olarity to analyze th e asp ectu al scalar of an event, w e found th ere w ere som e prob lem s w ith th is w ay, like th e logic w as n ot clear and general enough, and also it w as hard to define the quantity value of tim e if referred to early or late. T he idea of probab ility and self-inform ation in Inform ation T heory can h elp solve th is prob lem . T
